Since 1976
Our Story
Nearly 50 years of flavour, family, and Bradford
Where It All Began
In 1976, the Raja Brothers opened a small restaurant at 40-42 Mannville Terrace, Morley Street in Bradford. Their vision was simple: serve authentic Pakistani and Kashmiri cuisine with generous portions and genuine hospitality. Word spread quickly.
International Restaurant became known for introducing dishes that would become staples of British-Asian dining. The Chicken Masala and Butter Chicken were first served here — dishes that went on to become favourites across the country.
For nearly five decades, families have gathered around our tables to share sizzling karahis, fragrant biryanis, and traditional Punjabi desi dishes cooked the way they should be — with patience, with quality ingredients, and with love.
The Flagship
In December 2022, we opened our second branch on Sticker Lane. With 300 covers, crystal chandeliers, and opulent interiors, the Flagship is the next chapter in the International story — the same recipes and the same dedication, on a grander stage.
Whether you visit Morley Street for the intimate original experience or Sticker Lane for the grand dining hall, you’ll always find the same commitment to quality, the same warmth, and the same flavours that have made us a Bradford institution.
“Eating is a necessity, but cooking is an art.”
